Runners from across the region will gather again at Tyler Arboretum, at 515 Painter Road in Media, PA for the 19th Annual Tyler Arboretum10k Trail Run. The race will be held on Saturday, March 31, starting at 9:00AM, rain or shine.
Hosted by the historic Tyler Arboretum and presented by the Delaware County Road Runners Club, the race is traditionally been the second stop in the USATF Mid-Atlantic Grand Prix Off-Road Running Series.
Runners will face a flat half-mile sprint from behind the Tyler barn to the first set of hills, and then volunteer marshals and path markings will guide them around the arboretum and back to the finish line. The 10-kilometer course (6.2 miles) is known to be both fast and challenging for the fittest trail runner and a fun experience for novices, due to its combination of wide paths, frequent elevation changes and shallow creek crossings.
The race represents an opportunity for the Tyler Arboretum to showcase its 650 acres of beautiful gardens, fields and trees to runners and their families, who may enjoy the grounds for the rest of race day. A sizable portion of each registration benefits the year-round programs of the arboretum. For the runners, it’s a day to compete in beautiful surroundings and socialize afterwards with friends over a hot drink and snacks.
Runners can register online at WWW.TylerTrailRun.com or with an application from Delcorrc.com. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall, and also to the top three male and female finishers in 10-year age brackets. Results will be posted on the website and at DelcoRRC.com. Applications are also available at race sponsor The Running Place in Newtown Square, PA or by contacting John Greenstine, (610) 891-0806 and email–TylerTrailRun@yahoo.com.

2010 marked the 1st annual South Jersey Law Enforcement Outdoor Challenge. Inspired by an Outdoor Challenge in North Jersey, members of the South Jersey Law Enforcement community were driven to develop a challenging, but exciting race for the community. YMCA Camp Ockanickon of Medford opened their campsite to host a one of a kind outdoor challenge encompassing running, mountain biking and “the canoe” for an awesome outdoor race. Open to the public, 2-person teams challenge themselves and navigate a 3.1 mile trail run, 10 mile mountain bike course, 2 mile canoe and a 3.1 mile trail run AGAIN; just to remind you that your still alive.
2011 registration tripled and 50 teams registered for the event. We added several big sponsors and had perfect race conditions for the second year in a row. Registration is now open on active. Check us out of Facebook or the below website.
