The Tea Burner 5k and 1 Mile Run/Walk is named for the 1774 tea burning by the citizens of historic Greenwich NJ in an act of defiance against tea taxation. The race is held in conjunction with the Cumberland County Historical Society’s annual Artisan Faire. New Jersey’s tall ship the “A.J. Meerwald” will be docked and sailing in Greenwich this weekend. The race course is scenic, flat, & fast and passes colonial homes, the Artisan Faire, and the Cohansey River. The race is held in memory of longtime Mayor,Wally Goodwin. In 2012 the race proceeds will benefit the C. Wallis Goodwin Memorial Scholarship Fund, “Miracle For Mateo (www.miracleformateo.org), and the Greenwich Vol. Fire & Rescue Co.
T-shirts to all pre-registrants guaranteed; race day while they last. Timing by LM Computer Sports ( to be award eligible 5K runners must finish within 45 minutes ). On-site morning of the race registration starts at 7:30 am. Mail-in registration must be postmarked by 9/22/12
